Problem Symptom

During creating a design summary in Microsoft Word Document format, the following error message appears:

where: abc is the name of CAST log file.

Possible Reason

The template file called Normal.dot that is used by CAST for its workspace is corrupt.

Solution

Delete or rename the corrupt Normal.dot will solve the problem because deleting or renaming it will force Microsoft Word to create a new one.

The file Normal.dot is generally used by Microsoft Word to store all settings and menu/toolbar customization you made. It also stores all macros that you recorded or wrote. Deleting Normal.dot forces Word to reset all the settings you have made to the default values; all your customization and macros will also be lost. Therefore, renaming Normal.dot is more recommended than deleting it.
